Skin Care Consultations

At Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge, we offer comprehensive skin care consultations for all of our patients in order to fully evaluate their skin condition and determine the best treatment option.

During your skin care consultation, your consultant will examine your skin and ask about your current habits and regimen, medical history and address any other questions or concerns you may have. This thorough evaluation will help your consultant provide the best treatment for your individual skin type. Each patient's skin is different, so a personalized skin care plan from an experienced professional will help yield the best possible results from your skin treatment.

Skin Care Products

Medical skin care products, or cosmeceuticals, are functional cosmetic products that go above and beyond their intended function of external beautification and enhancement of the skin by offering additional therapeutic and anti-aging benefits. These products are formulated to improve the skin's health and appearance as well as having positive physiological effects on the skin on a cellular level.

SkinCeuticals

SkinCeuticals is an advanced line of skin care products that contain pharmaceutical-grade ingredients to correct past damage, maintain current skin health and prevent future damage to the skin. These products remove oils and dead cells from the skin and even help protect the skin from skin cancer.

SkinCeuticals offers both corrective and preventative treatments to give patients the smooth, radiant and healthy skin they deserve. There are several different SkinCeuticals products available, including cleansers, toners, moisturizers, sunscreen and more, all designed to promote overall skin health. Your practitioner can develop a personalized skin care regimen for you based on your individual skin type and needs.

Obagi®

Obagi® is a brand of skin care products designed to develop and maintain healthy skin through an advanced line of cleansers, toners, eye creams, sunscreens, serums and more. These products are available only from a physician because of the prescription-strength quality of the included ingredients.

There are three different Obagi® systems available, each designed for a different skin type. Each product within these systems serves a specific purpose and are all designed to work together for maximum results. Your practitioner will determine which Obagi® system is best for you after a thorough evaluation of your skin.

Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup

Jane Iredale Mineral Makeup is known as the Skin Care Makeup for its safety and skin care benefits, along with its stylish, up-to-date color choices. Plastic surgeons and dermatologists often recommend these products to their patients as a smart everyday makeup choice and also as a corrective makeup for post-operative care.

All Jane Iredale products are non-comedogenic and oil-free, reducing the risk of breakouts in people with oily or acne-prone skin. These products also contain sunscreen to protect the skin and are safe for even the most sensitive skin types.

Latisse™

Latisse™ is the first and only eyelash treatment approved by the FDA to help grow longer, fuller and darker eyelashes for the treatment of hypotrichosis or for patients unsatisfied with the natural appearance of their eyelashes. This treatment contains bimatoprost, an active ingredient often found in glaucoma medication that can effectively improve the appearance of your lashes by stimulating the growth process.

Latisse™ is applied to the base of the eyelashes once a day after makeup and contact lenses have been removed. Results are often noticeable after four weeks, with full results appearing after 16 weeks. Some patients may experience itching, redness or dryness in the eye area with use of Latisse™. Be sure to notify your practitioner if any of these symptoms occur.
