Joan Smith, NP

Joan Smith brings an entirely different, but appealing, perspective to Skincare Aesthetics of Baton Rouge. Her background as a fifth grade teacher prior to attending nursing school prepared her well for the effective and essential ongoing teaching that is necessary in any successful approach to both surgical and non-surgical rejuvenation procedures. This drive toward education for herself and others prompted her to gain a Masters degree in Nursing and subsequently a teaching position with Our Lady of the Lake School of Nursing. Not quite ready to stop there, however, she went on to receive training and certification as a Nurse Practitioner. These educational accomplishments make her eminently qualified to consult, advise, and implement aesthetic treatment programs specific for each client she sees.

Further training and experience in the surgical fields, both in private practice and in hospital settings, gave her a unique capability to integrate with the plastic surgical aspects of total rejuvenation. She has had extensive experience with all aspects of non-surgical rejuvenation techniques and products, and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our clinic.

Additionally, Joan is an accomplished artist, which gives her a true "eye" for what is beautiful. According to Joan, "The face is my canvas and I want to bring beauty into each and every one." James W. Wade, M.D.

Board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. James W. Wade strives to deliver excellence and satisfaction to all of his patients. He has been providing plastic surgery services at his private practice in the Baton Rouge community since 1985.

Over the years, Dr. Wade's career has included pioneering work in microsurgery and breast reconstruction, with an evolution into the challenging realm of cosmetic surgery. He is currently an active staff member at several area hospitals and maintains numerous professional memberships. In addition to his clinical accomplishments, Dr. Wade is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the division of plastic surgery at the Louisiana State University Medical Center.

J. Anthony Stephens, M.D.

Dr. Anthony Stephens began his plastic surgical career in Baton Rouge in 1998. Board certified in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery, his early experience in microvascular breast reconstruction evolved into a strong interest in body contour surgery after massive weight loss and aesthetic surgery of the breasts. Dr. Stephens is a licensed pilot and a devoted family man.
